Travel Nurses Enjoy Excellent Benefits While Visiting and Living in Exciting Cities Across the USA
By Ugur Akinci
Travel nurses are hired by medical facilities for periods averaging from six months to a year or more and they are in high demand all across the United States.
A recent news story has quoted Jeanette Klemczak, chief nurse executive for Michigan, who said “in Michigan by 2010 we will be 7,000 nurses short and by 2015 we will be 18,000 nurses short.” The numbers are very similar in other parts of the country. There simply is not enough nurses to meet the healthcare needs of the retiring Baby Boomers and an aging population. So is it a surprise that they enjoy a good income and a long list of benefits?
Those nurses who'd like to travel frequently and see the country, meet exciting new people in different research and healthcare settings across the nation, help the sick and those in need, and make an above-average income find travel nursing an ideal career.
On top of all that, travel nurses enjoy many benefits as well. All paid full medical and dental benefits from day one is just one such benefit.
Referral Bonus is another. Travel nurses are in such high demand, you make money even by referring a travel nurse to a nurse staffing company. Some of the better known agencies are known to offer bonuses up to $500 for referrals.
Did you know that travel nurses enjoy 401(k) plans as well? Such plans can grow your retirement nest egg quickly since the staffing company matches a certain portion of every dollar you set aside for your retirement. 401(k) plans usually have significant tax advantages as well.
Travel Reimbursement – How about getting paid hundreds of dollars just for moving from one part of the country to another? Travel nurses enjoy that as well.
If you are thinking of a career with solid benefits and a future job guarantee you would do yourself a favor by giving a serious thought to nursing in general, and travel nursing in particular.
